Hi, I'm Ryoko. Somewhere between January and now, I keep having the same thought: this is the year I finally... — and then I blink, and it's July.
If that sounds familiar, you're not alone. The second half of the year has already started, quietly, whether we noticed or not. So today I want to sit down with my planner — and maybe you'll grab yours too — and figure out what to actually write in it for the months ahead.
This isn't about predicting your future. It's about giving your planner a few good questions to hold onto, borrowed from what the sky is doing right now.
Three things shaping the second half
There are three astrological shifts worth knowing about, and each one translates into something concrete for your pages.
Jupiter has moved into Leo, and it's staying there all season. Jupiter is often read as the planet of expansion — it points to where things grow. Leo is about self-expression, about putting things out into the world. If the first half of the year was about tending something quietly on the inside, this stretch is said to be more about letting it show.
August 13th brings a solar eclipse in Leo. In many traditions, eclipses are treated as unusually potent new moons — a marker for planting seeds, more than any ordinary day this year.
Saturn and Neptune are both retrograde in Aries, Saturn from July 27 through December 11, and Neptune from July 7 through December 13. Saturn is often associated with steady, real-world structure; Neptune with dreams and the harder-to-pin-down parts of a vision. Since February, they've both been sitting in Aries, a sign about turning hope into something real. When both stations turn retrograde at once, it's traditionally read less as "stop" and more as "double-check your foundation before you keep building."

Put simply: expansion, a big turning point in mid-August, and a long stretch built for revisiting rather than rushing.
What to write, month by month

Here's where the planner comes in. Each month has its own texture — some are for reviewing, some for starting, some for simply continuing.
July — Take stock. Mercury is retrograde until the 24th, so this is a better month for sorting than sprinting. Two questions for your page: What actually moved forward this year so far? Where did I drift off course? You're just checking your direction, not judging it.
August — Your starting line. The eclipse lands on the 13th. Try writing: What do I want to bring out into the open this half of the year? Whatever answer shows up here tends to set the tone for everything after.
September — Build the structure. A good month for turning intentions into small, repeatable habits. One prompt: What's one small thing I could do consistently?
October — Revisit, don't rush. Venus turns retrograde until November 14th, and Mercury joins it from the 24th. Two retrogrades stacked in one season is a nudge to slow down on new contracts or big purchases. Try: What am I ready to let go of?
November — Back in motion. Once the retrogrades lift on the 14th, momentum tends to pick up again — this is often the fastest-feeling stretch of the back half.
December — Take the harvest. Saturn and Neptune turn direct again, while Jupiter starts its own retrograde on the 13th. A natural month to look back at what 2026 actually gave you, and start sketching the next leg of the journey.
A little something for your sign

If you want a more specific prompt, here's a note for each sign to jot in the margins.
Aries — Saturn and Neptune are both sitting on you this season. Which of the things I've kept up would work better if I changed the method, not the effort?
Taurus — Venus retrograde in October touches money and relationships. What do I actually want to hold onto — and what am I free to release?
Gemini — Jupiter in Leo is lighting up communication and learning. What idea do I want to put into words? What do I want to learn?
Cancer — A new moon in your own sign on July 14th is a reset right at the doorway to this half. What does "safe enough" actually look like for me right now?
Leo — Your season, and a rare one: the new moon eclipse on August 13th, plus Jupiter moving through your sign for a full year. What do I want to try, just to shine a little more like myself?
Virgo — New moon September 11th, tailor-made for building systems. What's one small daily habit worth keeping?
Libra — New moon October 11th, and Venus retrograde ends November 14th — relationships start moving again from autumn. Who do I want to grow closer to in this half of the year?
Scorpio — New moon November 9th, a season for deepening and releasing. What am I ready to let go of, honestly?
Sagittarius — New moon December 9th, right as Saturn turns direct around the 11th — freedom returns just in time for year-end. What seed do I want to plant now, for the free-roaming version of me later?
Capricorn — With Saturn retrograde, this is a good season to audit what you've built. Once it turns direct after December 11th, results tend to land more visibly. What am I building that I actually want to keep?
Aquarius — Jupiter in Leo is lighting your partnership sector from across the wheel. Is there something I'd like to try alongside someone else?
Pisces — A full moon (with a partial lunar eclipse, not visible from Japan) on August 28th stirs emotion and intuition. Where has my gut already decided, even if I haven't acted yet?
One card, for whatever you're carrying into the second half
If you'd like a small ritual to go with all this, here's one. Pick A, B, or C — just go with instinct.

If you picked A: The card is The World.

In many traditions it's read as completion, integration, arriving somewhere whole. Saturn's retrograde this season is sometimes linked to this same energy of finishing the work properly — not skipping the boring parts. A follow-up card, the Five of Cups (reversed), suggests that whatever felt like a loss along the way may be worth reframing: what's left standing matters more than what tipped over. Worth journaling: what have I been carrying that I could set down without losing the plot?
If you picked B: The card is The Empress

— abundance, a season of harvest, maybe even a literal sense of something being nurtured into being. A follow-up, the Eight of Cups (reversed), points toward a new approach rather than the old one: the cups in that image are empty, and moving on isn't giving up, it's finding where the water actually is now. Worth journaling: is there a new way of doing this that I haven't tried yet?
If you picked C: The card is Death

— not literal, but the kind of ending that clears space for something to begin again. A follow-up, The Sun (reversed), hints that the good outcome might arrive a little later than expected, on its own schedule rather than yours. A third card, The Wheel of Fortune, points to a shift that's largely out of your hands — which, read generously, means the opportunity is in how you respond to it, not in controlling it. Worth journaling: what change is already in motion, whether or not I asked for it?
Before you close the notebook
Three things, if you only remember three: Jupiter moved into Leo for the season, August 13th is the big one, and Saturn plus Neptune retrograde is your cue to revisit rather than rush. Write down what feels true for your own year, skip what doesn't.
And a little news, while I have you here: I just started a new YouTube channel — slow, quiet studio vlogs from Yokohama, tarot cards, stationery, everyday moments, no talking, just the process. And my Etsy shop is now open too, with printable journaling pages, spreads, and a few tarot-inspired extras to pair with your planner.
